Isn’t the Spring Mini just devine.  I love everything in the catalogue and have bought almost all the things in it…….very naughty.  Would you believe that I have been making several cards lately and have wanted to update my blog (I know you are all surprised about that one), the only problem is my camera has died.

I made this cute card yesterday using the Birthday Wish stamp and I loved it that much I wanted to share it with you so I just had to scan it.  The scan doesn’t really look anything like the card but you will get the general idea of it, the brads on the brown punched flowers are pink also.  I made this card for my MIL’s B’day on 1st Sept so I hope she doesn’t look at my blog or she will see her card before the day.  I have been making heaps of cards with the sweet always DSP, I just love this paper so much.

Sorry about the picture quality, I will be getting a new camera very soon.  It looks so much better IRL.  Anyway just a quick post to show you my card and let you know I am still alive!!!!!  Have another scanned card to show so will be back soon.

Hi everyone,

Well its been a year since I have put up a post and I was in trouble on Saturday at a stamping afternoon at my upline’s house, the lovely Tanya Fraser (Hi Tanya – you are the reason I am pulling my finger out today to do this), for not updating my blog.  Well I have been a bit busy in that year (or is lazy more like it), we have added an addition to our little family, Brock William (you may of seen Madonna’s beautiful card she made for him on her blog).  He was born on 4th February, weighing 6 pound 15 oz.  Here he is at one day old with his big brother (just before bath time), aren’t they beautiful?

Unfortunately our poor little man had reflux so there was a lot of screaming (from him, even though sometimes I wish I could too) in our house and not much time to do anything else.  You just feel so helpless when there is nothing you can do for them.  I am just so thankful for drugs, he is now just the happiest baby and wouldn’t even imagine he had anything wrong with him.  We were just so lucky that even when he had reflux bad we still got good sleep of a night and his weight gain was unbelievable. 

Here is a photo that was taken of Brock yesterday at his Christening reception.  (I think I got a look in on this one – our oldest looks just like daddy).  I would post one of him at the actual Christening but his father doesn’t like the fact that his son wore a Christening gown (same one his Uncle, Mum and BROTHER {same deal there} wore) so I better not plaster them on the net.

And here is dad’s clone (can’t be showing favourtism putting one son in and not the other).  Thank you Tanya for taking these beautiful pics, I think you missed your calling – you should of been a photographer.

I also became an Aunty on Friday to a beautiful little girl, Rhiannon Gladys.  Now I can dress someone up in pink frilly dresses with ribbons and all the rest of the things you can put on girls. My sister in law isn’t a girly girl and hates the fact that we all want to dress Rhiannon up like one (Mum is in on it too been the first Granddaughter), Al is relieved though coz now I have someone to put dresses on (He didn’t like the fact I was going to dress Brock up since we only have two boys, lucky I did get a chance with the Christening gown hey).  I don’t have any pics yet but when I get some I will upload them to show you all.  Now I can do pretty pink scrapbooking pages too – Yay!!!  So you might see some of them too – if you’re lucky.

Now I am not saying this is going to be a weekly thing but I will try to make it more regular than a yearly blog.  No promises .

Thanks for stopping by and I will load up some of my creations I have done in the last year (yes I have done some stamping since you last heard from me) when I get around to it.  Just wanted to share some pics and news with you this time.  Now the girls can’t pick on me anymore for not posting anything, hehe.

Hello again.  I did this scrapbooking page for a dear friend of mine, it is a picture of her mother’s wedding (she was a wonderful lady who I loved dearly).  I wanted to keep the page simple so as not to take away from the photo or the era but at the same time wanting to make it just perfect.  The most nerve racking part was cutting the photo down to remove all the old sticky tape the photographer used to put the photo in a cardboard frame, my hands were shaking that much I thought I was going to ruin the photo for sure.  But then I wasn’t alone on not wanting to cut it………….hey Bev.

I used the large Baroque Motifs stamp in versamark to stamp the background onto Blush Blossom Cardstock and then mounted the photo first onto Mellow Moss Cardstock before sticking it down.  The colours go very nicely with the colours in the photo. I was going to use Blush Blossom Ink but tried it first on a scrap bit of Blush Blossom CS and it just didn’t have the effect I was looking for.

The journalling was done using a font from Microsoft Word (I think it was Edwardian Script) that was very curly whirly like the stamp I used.  I printed it onto Very Vanilla Cardstock and again mounted it onto Mellow Moss Cardstock before sticking it down.

Beverley was very pleased with how the page turned out and has many more (old) photos, mostly weddings of Aunts and Uncles that she would like me to scrap.  If I am still sane by the end of doing these I will post some for you to see.  A big Thank you to my Grandmother, Madonna for uploading my picture that I couldn’t get on the site.  Thank you for looking.

I have always liked this stamp set so I couldn’t work out why I have only just bought it now (Probably coz there are just too many great stamp sets and I like them all)???  Sorry about the picture quality but my digital camera has decided to die on me for the third time so I had to scan this card, the card doesn’t actually end where the Black CS does on the right hand side.  Needless to say the camera is heading back to the repairers AGAIN!!!!  Lucky it is still under warranty. 

The new in-colours that we have this year are just fantastic.  At first my favourites were Purely Pomegranate and Wild Wasabi (which are both very delicious) but I am now really loving the other four colours just as much. Now for the card:  I embossed the Lovely as a Tree stamp with Black EP (Embossing Powder) onto Whisper White CS (Cardstock), sponged around the outside with Basic Black Ink, then mounted it onto River Rock and then Basic Black CS.  I used the Best Wishes stamp from the Sincere Salutations set and stamped this with Basic Black Ink onto Whisper White CS and sponged the outside, added a few brads and then mounted it onto Basic Black CS.  I then stuck them both onto the River Rock Card. 

The River Rock goes very nicely with Black and White.  This makes a great blokey card (for some reason men are the hardest to make cards for) and it does look so much better in real life.  Thanks for looking and I will try to keep you up-to-date on my creations and happenings.   Melissa :0) 

Okay, so I know my first real post should be of something stamping.  Well, I got a tad bit side tracked when looking for a picture of something I have made and found this photo which I just had to share with you. 

Aren’t the two men in my life just beautiful snuggled up in bed together.  The woolly one is my charming husband, Alan (in need of a shave) and the little guy is my adorable 13 month old son Jake.

I promise my next post will contain something stampy, until then, be good (or be good at it).
